Nigel Farage Hit By Egg On Campaign Trail

UKIP's Nigel Farage has been hit by an egg thrown by a placard-waving protester during a campaign visit to Nottingham.

The party leader was pelted as he climbed out of his car in the city centre, where he had been due to rally support for his party's EU election candidates.

The demonstrator, who gave his name as Fred, was holding a sign which read: "Ukip ... sad, scared, old men."

He was bundled into a police car and driven away.
