Golfer Rory McIlroy has called off his engagement to tennis star Caroline Wozniacki just days after posting wedding invitations.
The former world number one said he ended the relationship after realising he was not ready for marriage.
McIlroy, a two-time major winner, issued a statement after talking to Wozniacki - and was later pressed on the split by reporters.
"The problem is mine," read the Northern Irishman's statement.

"There is no right way to end a relationship that has been so important to two people.
"I wish Caroline all the happiness she deserves and thank her for the great times we've had. I will not be saying anything more about our relationship in any setting."
McIlroy was then asked about the break-up as he prepared for the BMW PGA Championship.
He said: "I think I'm no different than anyone else. Everyone has been through break-ups and it's obviously very, very difficult.
"I'm not going to lie. It's going to be very difficult. But you know, at least when I get inside the ropes I can just try and concentrate on the shot at hand."

At the time McIlroy tweeted: "I have a feeling it is going to be a great year."
Wozniacki later revealed the golfer asked her parents for permission before popping the question.
She then flaunted her diamond ring - reportedly worth well over £100,000 - at the Australian Open.
There was no hint of trouble in the relationship on Sunday when McIlroy tweeted a picture while the couple were having dinner at Nobu restaurant in Monte Carlo.
Wozniacki, who was born in Denmark to Polish parents, reached world number one in her own sport in 2012 but has yet to win a Grand Slam.

And they were arguably the most successful and richest pair in modern sport.
McIlory has a £12m-a-year contract with Nike, while deals with companies like Turkish Airlines supplemented Wozniacki's tennis earnings.
