David Cameron made a series of pledges in his speech to the Tory Party conference in Birmingham, including tax cuts.

:: The threshold at which workers pay the higher 40p-rate of income tax will rise to £50,000 if the Conservatives win next year's General Election.

:: Every teenager will be guaranteed a place on the National Citizen Service should a Conservative government be elected in 2015.
:: A promise to protect NHS spending for a further five years if the Tories win next May.
:: Increased devolution for Scotland would be matched with "English votes for English laws" at Westminster.
:: A commitment to create "full employment in Britain" and to "abolish youth unemployment" by ensuring that young people "earn or learn" rather than going straight on to benefits after they leave school.
:: An emphasis on plans to build 100,000 starter homes, available to first-time buyers at a 20% discount.
:: Pledge to scrap exclusive zero-hours contracts which tie people to a company without the guarantee of work.
:: A signalled Mr Cameron would defy the European Court of Human Rights over the issue of prisoners voting.
:: A restatement of his commitment to a British Bill of Rights to replace the Human Rights Act.
:: A warning that a vote for UKIP would help Labour leader Ed Miliband get into Downing Street.
:: The speech lasted 52 minutes and ended with a standing ovation.
