Three British teenagers planning to join Islamic State have been detained in Turkey, according to the Reuters news agency.
Those held have not been named but are aged between 17 and 19.
Turkish authorities are in touch with their UK counterparts to arrange their deportation to Britain this week.
In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said counter-terrorism officers were alerted that two 17-year-old boys from northwest London had gone missing and were believed to be travelling to Syria.
Enquiries revealed they had travelled with a third male, aged 19.
Officers alerted the Turkish authorities who were able to intercept all three and prevented them making it to Syria.
The group remain in detention in Turkey.
The families have been kept informed of developments, Scotland Yard said.
